Alameda County Breastfeeding Coalition
Activities: 8/3/09
Attending Breastfeeding Awareness Walk in Sacramento and presenting Mother Baby Friendly Workplace Awards.

Amador/Calaveras Breastfeeding Coalition
Activities:
Our Amador & Calaveras coalition will not be in Sacramento, but is participating by sponsoring a local walk in Jackson at Detert Park from 11am to 2pm. We are also having a clothing exchange for maternity clothes and infant clothes 0-12 months of age. There will be informational booths and refreshments available as well as some nice prizes to win in a free raffle. Our hope, of course, is to show support for the breastfeeding families in our community and provide information on the benefits of breastfeeding and the laws that support breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding Coalition of Greater Sacramento

Breastfeeding Coalition of San Joaquin County
Activities: 8/13/09
Coalition members will be participating in both the State Walk in Sacramento and our local Breastfeeding Awareness Walk in Stockton sponsored by Delta Health Care WIC.

Breastfeeding Coalition of Ventura County

The Coalition will receive a proclamation from the BOS that declares August 2009 Breastfeeding Awareness Month.

Inland Empire Breastfeeding Coalition
Activities: 8/6/09 10 am
“World Walk for Breastfeeding” at 5060 Montclair Plaza Ln, Montclair, CA. Meet at Nordstroms entrance. Gifts, prizes, certificates of attendance, and coupons from participating vendors. Don’t forget your cameras to enter photo contest.

Merced County Breastfeeding Coalition
Activities: 8/5/09 10am-noon at Bob Hart Square
Over twelve local agencies and over one hundred people including mothers, babies, health care providers, nurses and breastfeeding supporters will head up this years Breastfeeding Awareness Walk “The Right Answers in Tough Times”. This year’s event continues to bring awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding and the many advantages to a healthy start right from the beginning.  This year’s awareness walk will begin at the Bob Hart Square on Main Street and Canal Street and will end at Courthouse Park.   Upon arriving to the Courthouse Park, local businesses will be acknowledged for the great work they do to support our new mothers and babies.

Orange County Breastfeeding Coalition
Activities:
Orange County WIC is planning an all day Breastfeeding Conference in collaboration with Public Health Community Field Nursing Services and the Orange County Breastfeeding Coalition.

Santa Barbara County Breastfeeding Coalition
Activities:
Santa Barbara County BF Coalition will have their “1st annual Doctor of the Year Award.”

Santa Cruz County Breastfeeding Coalition
Activities:
The Santa Cruz County Breastfeeding Coalition is collaborating with the United Way of Santa Cruz County to recognize Family Friendly businesses.

Tuolumne County Breastfeeding Coalition
Activities:
Tuolumne County WIC will team up with the local breastfeeding coalition and are doing outreach to health care practitioners and pharmacies during the first week of March. WIC will also team up with the local breastfeeding coalition to deliver a basket full of goodies to the first exclusively breastfed baby in August at the local hospital.
