Welcome to the California Breastfeeding Coalition.
The California Breastfeeding Coalition (CBC), formed in May 2003, serves as an umbrella organization for the 34 regional breastfeeding coalitions located throughout California. The CBC aims, through collaborative efforts, to create a more healthful California through the promotion and support of breastfeeding.
Whether you're a professional, researcher, business owner, or family member, we hope our website will give you the resources and tools you need to promote and support breastfeeding in your community.
There are many ways you can become involved:
- Join your local breastfeeding coalition
- Take part in the August 13th Breastfeeding Awareness Walk at the State Capitol or join a local walk in your own community.
- Help recognize local businesses which support their breastfeeding employees by nominating them for a local 2009 Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace Award.
- Become a CBC Breastfeeding Ambassador
- Participate in "The Business Case for Breastfeeding" Training
- Use The Prevention Institute's Spectrum of Prevention to Increase Your Coalition's Effectiveness.
- Learn more about breastfeeding at one of the many continuing education programs held in the state
